American poet, musician, and author, Gil Scott-Heron is best known for 1970 track, 'The Revolution Will Not Be Televised' and is credited with helping to invent rap music through his poetic style, politics and influence as a spoken word performer in the 1970s and 80s. Released his first new album in 2010, after 16 years: 'I'm new here'.
